Paris – Marathon de Paris
This week Paris’s streets will be transformed into a river of runners and joggers, snaking its way for 42,195km from the Champs-Elysées to Avenue Foch. And it’s the marathon’s 30th birthday this year, so whether you’re in training for the big day already, or will support from the sideline, don’t miss out on the buzzing atmosphere this event has to offer.

London – Easter Egg Hunts
From Sunday, four of London’s most famous sites will become even more popular as children (and adults!) go on the hunt for Easter Eggs. Kew Gardens, The Imperial War Museum, Kenwood House and Battersea Park are the chosen locations, should you choose to accept these missions! And for those of you who have given up chocolate for Lent, don’t worry, the hunts take place up until 23rd April, so you can collect your well-deserved egg-treats after Easter Sunday too!
Dates: 9th-23rd April (various locations)
Cost: Various. The Imperial War Museum is free.

Madrid – Música Electroacústica Concert
El Circulo de Bellas Artes is a haven for you art lovers, always providing interesting film cycles, expositions and presentations. On the itinery this week is an electro-acoustic concert performed by Emiliano del Cerro, playing pieces by J.C. Risset as well as his own compositions. With Salvador Espasa on the flute and Soledad Bordas on the piano. Don’t forget to spend some time in the charming café there too, for pre- or post- concert drinks!

Milan – The Salone Internazionale del Mobile
Over 1000 Italian furniture designers exhibit their latest pieces at this annual feria, from wardrobes to bookcases to mattresses! Entry is restricted to tradesmen only (apart from the 9th of April), but there is still a buzzing atmosphere in the city throughout the duration of the festival, with many parties and spin-off events to enjoy as well!
Date: 5-10 April 2006 (Open to the public April 9)
Time: 10am-7pm.
Venue: New Fiera Milano exhibition complex in Rho-Pero, Milan.
Cost: starting at 18 euros for a one-time entry pass.

Copenhagen – Irish Literary Festival. TODAY!
The Irish Literary Festival will run throughout April at Copenhagen’s central library, and kicks off this afternoon with a speech from the Irish Ambassador James Brennan and an introduction to the festival from the head librarian and the opening of the exhibition "Beckett – a Centenary Celebration" with a short, dramatised introduction to this seminal writer.  Date: 3 April
