Paris – Ivy Paris stages International Artists Show
Ivy Paris is putting together a show of 25 international artists from 12 countries. Meet other Paris based artists and aspiring artists – the Paris based artist’s salon is bringing together people with a view to organising group expositions and events in Paris and abroad, as well as support and inspire each other.
When: May 4 – Vernissage from 6 pm to 10 pm
Where: Chapelle Saint Louis de la Salpetriere 13eme. Blvd. de l’Hopital, Metro Saint Marcel / Gare d’Austerlitz

London – We Media goes grassroots with a fringe event
Can’t afford to join the official We Media Global Forum this week? Don’t worry. Here’s a more grassroots opportunity to join the debate on social technologies and media: head over to the fringe conference organized by communities guru Robin Hamman. The speakers line up includes Ben Metcalfe and Suw Charman. Check the site for updates on other speakers and where/how to sign up.

Copenhagen – Spite the cold with Babette’s Feast and socializing
European expat network Eurocircle is showing the Oscar Winning Danish film Babette’s Feast (1988). The movie will be in Danish with English subtitles. The screening will be followed by drinks at cafe Gefaehrlich. The event is co-hosted by Copenhagen’s network for Italians. Sign up at the Eurocircle website (membership is free and you will be automatically notified of new events).

Basel – Holbein the Younger takes over the Kunstmuseum
The Kunstmuseum Basel has whipped up a large show of works by Hans Holbein the Younger, with special emphasis on the pieces created from 1515 to 1532 – The Basel Years. A second exhibition focusing on Holbein’s London years is to go up at the Tate Britain later in the year.
When: April 1 to July 2, 2006

Rome – Tek Festival
Tekfestival, "Ai confini del mondo… dentro l’occidente" takes place every year in Rome. It screens the latest independent and social films and documentaries, and hosts many international premieres. From European migration to Women’s cinema and economic modernization, expect a wide range of topics and styles. The festival generates a slew of parallel events taking place around the city.
