London – Masturbathon?
We’ll skip trying to describe this and go straight to the source:

London will be hosting the UK’s first "masturbate-a-thon" next month in which hundreds of men and women are expected to pleasure themselves for charity. The setting in Clerkenwell Road, London will feature soft lighting, softer furnishings, relaxing music and solo booths. The sponsored event takes place on August 5 and will raise money for the Terrence Higgins Trust and sexual and reproductive health agency Marie Stopes International.

Charity sanctioned public masturbation anyone?

Amsterdam – Fashion stages Laundry Days
If you are looking for an offbeat alternative to more traditional fashion extravaganzas (read Paris, Milan), try the Amsterdam International Fashion Week. The prospectus reads a bit like something spawned by a tourist board, and the whole event probably is the brainchild of one, but the photos of past events posted on Flickr look promising and the organizers promise to mix commerce with creativity. Alongside our catwalk show schedule our programme includes fashion events, lectures, exhibitions, retail initiatives and parties.
When: July 26 – 31
Where: Amsterdam
